Ok, so this is as geeky as it gets. Seriously. How could anything be more geeky than…
ASCII Star Wars!
If you haven’t already seen it (it’s been around a while): the original Star Wars ASCII animation can also be accessed from telnet by telnetting to towel.blinkenlights.nl.
Use the following in your terminal:telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl
Silly, but pretty amazing. People seem to have a lot of time on their hands…
So it’s got GI-Joes, Zombies, and some excellent trancey-techno music, and one creepy story line. I stumbled accross this youtube video and thought it cool enough to post and share. I watched this and found myself very impressed by the cool combo of creepy and toe-tapping. Judge for yourself.
The band is called Zombie Zombie, and they are a french electronic/instrumental duo. They only have one album that I can see (on iTunes.. already purchased ;), and I hope they have a bright future, as this is right up my alley. I hope you enjoy it too!
So most of you won’t care, but I just learned something that blew me away. If you have ever seen the [pretty bad] movie Bloodsport, starring Jean Claude Van Damme, then you likely recognize this guy:
His stage name is Bolo Yeung. He played the nemesis in the flick, and he is a badass. And what you likely didn’t know is that the guy was 50 years old when he filmed this. In 1988. 50! So that makes him 70 years old now, and he doesn’t look too much different. HAH.
I’m going to start powerlifting and doing Tai Chi every day, cuz that’s what this guy does. I’ll have massive glistening pecks by the time I’m 50.
I’m not sure how these guys escaped my attention. I have a soft spot for the silly attempts at entertainment. They “fill up the corners” of fun, if you ask me. Prepare for silliness.
